The park is open year-round and offers a captivating learning experience documenting the first battle of the Civil War in Kentucky that resulted in casualties from both Confederate and Union troops. The park was dedicated in 2008 to the memory of the men who participated in the Battle of Barbourville and all the nation’s Civil War battles and engagements. Informational kiosks are located throughout the park, as well as striking street view murals that help to tell the story of the battle.
